How Known by AI works

We make your website easy for AI assistants to read, keep it that way, and show you the results.

1. The free check

Our crawler visits your home page and a few standard files, the same way an AI assistant would. It runs 18 checks across four areas and marks each one pass, advisory or fail. You get a score out of 100 and the three fixes that will make the biggest difference.

2. Connecting your website

There are two ways to connect, depending on how your site is built:

• WordPress: install the free Known by AI plugin. This gives the most complete fix.
• Squarespace, Wix and other builders: paste a short block of code into your site’s header settings. This adds your business details; we show you clearly what it doesn’t cover.

3. What we add to your site

• Your business details in schema.org structured data, the format AI tools and search engines read.
• An llms.txt file: a short guide to your business written for AI assistants.
• A fuller guide with the main text of your key pages, without menus and pop-ups getting in the way.
• On WordPress, settings that welcome AI assistants in, without overriding any you’ve deliberately blocked.

4. Filling the gaps

If AI can’t answer common questions about you, such as your prices, the areas you cover or how to book, we draft that information for you to approve. Nothing goes on your website without your say-so.

5. Monthly report

Each month we check your site again and email you your score and which AI assistants visited. Pro, coming soon, will also check whether they mention you when asked.

What we can’t do

No one can guarantee an AI assistant will recommend you. They also weigh reviews and what other websites say. We make sure the part you control, your own website, is as clear to them as possible.
